SUMMARY:Greg Erwin Duo
DESCRIPTION:Gregg Erwin\, a family man\, born in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and raised on the banks of the Chattahoochee River\, found his country roots as he stomped through the trails of Appalachia. At the tender age of 8 years old\, Gregg was singing for church audiences all over North Georgia. It was not until much later in his life that he picked up the guitar and taught himself to play by ear. His passion for music\, his family\, his faith and his country has driven him to success. \nInspired by legendary artists such as Merle Haggard\, George Jones\, Hank Williams and Waylon Jennings\, Gregg soon discovered he too had been branded “Outlaw Country”.  Though he covers many of the well-known hits of these honky-tonk heroes\, it was the lyrical heart of Keith Whitley that inspired Gregg to launch his songwriting career. \nNow with the release of his first CD “200% Proof”\, Gregg tours all over the SouthEastern states playing for his fans and new listener alike. He performs both acoustic and full band shows\, singing familiar classic covers and introducing his own songs in his setlist. \nGregg has shared the stage with Chris Stapleton\, Wade Hayes\, Michael Allman\, John Berry\, Confederate Railroad and many others. He has woven a vast network friendship with talented musicians and now makes his living on the road.

SUMMARY:Sonja Gardner Band
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Sonja Gardner Band began their musical journeys on varied paths bringing with them a plethora of diverse talents and life experiences. Each of those experiences have enhanced and transcended the status quo of quality band music presented to you today. \nWith Sonja Gardner on lead vocals\, Jim Bickerton on guitar\, Bob Schneider on drums and Greg Green on bass\, each has shared a common drive of musical expression before combining their efforts on the destined day of their meeting; That drive being a passion for music without limitations of style\, genre or composition. \nFrom Jim’s history of playing guitar since the wee age of 7 and his talent of musical expression and composition for original music\, to Bob Schneider’s history of touring the country in bands playing drums to everything from Reggae\, to Rock and Country\, and Greg’s musical studies under Roy Vogt while majoring in Commercial Music at Belmont University in Nashville\, Sonja’s bandmates brought exceptional musical talent and experience to The Sonja Gardner Band. Their diversity brought the band added strength and uniqueness. \nSonja was signed to an Independent label\, Tate Music who produced her album and music video resounding in the genre of Modern Country. Sonja joined the Outpost Opry Variety show where her experiences with both Classic and Modern Country took her to performances on Loretta Lynn’s stage in Nashville\, singing with a Grammy Award winner\, Becky Hobbs\, as well as Conway Twitty’s number one son\, Michael Twitty\, to headline acts in Branson\, Missouri and as an opening act for the Grammy Award winning band\, Confederate Railroad. \nThe gamut of Sonja’s 4- 1/2 octave vocal range is finally being exercised in traditionally male lead cover songs from Led Zeppelin\, AC/DC and CCR  to the soaring heights and prestige of powerhouse female lead vocals of bands like Heart\, the Judds and Bonnie Raitt. She’s brought the sounds of Modern Country with her and has included original songs from her album in the band’s set list. \nSo how does a band transcend the genre limitations called for in the traditional music industry? It creates original and cover music that combines the best of both worlds; Rock and Country music and it breaks the standard mold of what is possible. \nIt is easy to see how the varied paths of  The Sonja Gardner Band have through their joint efforts\, realized and surpassed the limitations beyond the music scene of today. Their drive\, passion and musical experiences led them here. The core of their strength is that they believed it could be done. It is absolutely possible to combine the genres of a little bit of Modern Country with a whole lot of Rock and Roll to get their audiences on their feet and dancing! You all are cordially invited to feel the passion\, rise and witness it for yourselves!

SUMMARY:RB Stone
DESCRIPTION:RB Stone’s parents were huge music lovers; his father\, a blues/boogie\, rock ‘n’ roller and his mother\, a fan of Tennessee Ernie Ford\, Janis Joplin\, Herb Alpert\, Johnny Cash\, Sly and the Family Stone\, Elvis and the wide variety of hits from the 60’s. At 12\, his mother showed him some chords on the piano and Bill Withers’ hit “Lean On Me” was the first song he learned\, which started the ball rolling in his long blues/boogie composing career. \nEighteen and just out of high school\, music was still a dream that seemed to belong to others\, so he hired on with the railroad traveling the Midwest with a 90-man rail gang four days a week. After two years he accepted an offer as an assistant manager at a plumbing\, electric and heating store in Ohio\, rose to the level of manager and accumulated a house\, two cars\, two trucks\, and two motorcycles. \nRestless at 23 RB sold everything but a truck\, some harps and a guitar and headed to Colorado to be a cowboy and play music. There he met a horse trainer and lived on an Indian Reservation in Ignacio where he slept in a barn learning horses by day and teaching himself guitar at night. A few months later he got good enough at both and started getting hired by local outfitters to run back-country horse packing\, wrangle horses and entertain the guests around the campfire. \nSince those early beginnings\, RB’s life and career have taken many twists\, turns\, bumps and bruises accompanied by significant accomplishments. Independent and flying under the radar he has 15 albums under his belt\, toured 32 countries & 5 continents\, sold over 40\,000 albums most of them at his shows. He has a song catalog with Gwen Gordy of the Motown Dynasty at EMI. He’s had principal roles in national commercials\, appeared in national music videos and his songs have been recorded by artists such as The Marshall Tucker Band. RB has worked with many major acts from Jazz Greats Hiroshima to The Charlie Daniels Band\, has a 14 piece Roots Music Production Show featuring his songs\, a Billboard Magazine Songwriting award\, to name just a few of his achievements. \n“He’s been called a Blues Cowboy\, Country Bluesman\, Americana Artist and Roots Rocker\, and he answers yes to all.” \n“Without a bit of background\, the first listen to R.B. Stone’s Lonesome Traveler’s Blues rings with the authenticity of a bluesman who has been there and done that. Nothing is forced or contrived. This guy has been down all sorts of gravel roads\, often face-first. Turns out this bluesman has a whole lifetime of Americana and country music in his background. He’s got a background as colorful as any mountainside spring day and songs that flow as strong as runoff of winter’s snow. \nEvery bit of this work – from Stone’s achy vocals to his honky-tonk harmonica solos to Glen Kuykendall’s slide guitar and piercing solos – rings with the legitimacy of life’s experiences. The ten original songs here come from Stone’s tenure as a worker on a traveling railroad gang\, breaking horses on a Colorado ranch and leading pack tours into the Rocky Mountains for hunters and campers\, various stints as a plumber and a rodeo rider\, a worker in Hollywood doing commercials\, and spending time entertaining military troops. Along the way\, he recorded 15 albums. \nThe songs here are clever and sincere. They are genuine blues in the way Hank Williams wrote blues\, not by following a chord progressions\, but by following his heart. In “Fairweather Friends\,” Stone laments that his friends only come to see him when the sun is gonna shine. “They want you when they need you/I don’t need what they want\,” he wisely surmises. In “The Devil’s Satisfied\,” Stone documents the tales of lives wasted on substance abuse. No surprise there\, but the National steel of Kuykendall and Stone’s own acoustic are the perfect fit for the tenor of the song with an all too common ending. \nThere is so much talk these days about giving the blues room to evolve\, but so few examples of how it can do so organic and logically. Stone’s work is a spark of inspiration at a time when even tried and true blues artists seem imprisoned by their own world and afraid to be anything other than what they’ve always been. It is doubtful that Stone ever thought of himself as a bluesman\, but his songs reveal a very real\, gut-level dose of blues. This is very good blues\, played very generously from the soul.”\nMichael Kinsman – Blues Revue

SUMMARY:Joanna Connor
DESCRIPTION:Music chose me. I vividly recall trying to sing like Louis Armstrong’s ‘Hello Dolly’ in our Brooklyn apartment. It came on the radio often. I knew I was small\, but when I researched what year this version was on the charts\, I was floored with the realization that I was two years old!” \nAnd so\, Joanna Connor’s musical odyssey began. The soundtrack of her childhood in her adopted hometown of Worcester\, Massachusetts was diverse and bounteous. The Blues was part of the lexicon. Joanna’s favorite record as a child was Taj Mahal’s “Take A Giant Step/ The Old Folks At Home”. \nSeeing Buddy Guy perform at a local university at the age of 10 left a paramount impression. Playing saxophone\, guitar and singing through her school years were her passions\, and eventually led to her performing professionally at age 17. \nBut her hunger to become a guitarist first and foremost and her desire to immerse herself in the Blues\, propelled her to move to Chicago in 1984. \n“It was my university. I went out every night of the week. Within a month I had my first gig with the legendary Johnny Littlejohn. A few weeks later I became a part of Dion Payton and the 43rd St Bluesband. We were the house band at the Checkerboard Lounge\, on the south side of Chicago\, then owned by Buddy Guy. That’s when my schooling kicked into overdrive. I played with Buddy\, Junior Wells\, Otis Rush\, Sammy Lawhorn\, Pinetop Perkins\, Hubert Sumlin\, Magic Slim\, Son Seals\, Lonnie Brooks\, Koko Taylor\, just to name a few. I was blessed.” \nJoanna went on to form her own band in 1988 with weekly appearances at the Kingston Mines in Chicago.  Her formidable guitar playing\, and distinctive soul-churning vocal ability caught the attention of Blind Pig Records\, who released her debut album “Believe It” in 1990. \nNational and International accolades in the press and radio media resulted into a decade of world tours\, a dozen recordings on Ruf Records\, MC Records and others\, a documentary on Germany’s WDR Television\, and a multitude of TV appearances and radio features. \nJoanna and band shared stages with Blues\, Rock and Jazz greats\, including Luther Allison\, BB King\, Screaming Jay Hawkins\, Robben Ford\, Danny Gatton\, Robert Cray\, Jimmy Page\, ZZ Top\, Joe Cocker\, Etta James\, and others. \nJoanna signed endorsement deals with Gibson Guitars\, Victoria Amps and Orange Amps. \nIn 2005\, she took a hiatus from touring to spend time at home raising her young daughter. Two 15 plus year residencies at the House of Blues and The Kingston Mines\, honed Joanna’s considerable guitar and vocal chops even further. \nWhile working continuously in Chicago\, a handful of videos of her incendiary slide guitar solos went viral creating quite a sensation and garnering attention from media and established musicians alike. Joe Bonamassa sought her out and offered to produce the kind of record he felt Joanna had always had in her and should deliver to the world.  4801 South Indiana is this record\, a blues record that delivers all the raw emotion\, passion\, and fire that made the Blues so compelling from its inception. Joe Bonamassa did not merely produce\, arrange\, and play on the record\, he enabled and inspired Joanna to pull from deep within her all of what her life in music had given her. While steeped in tradition\, the recording is no museum piece\, it is alive and it is kicking\, once-in-a-lifetime Blues. \nPhoto by Maryam Wilcher

SUMMARY:Albert Castiglia
DESCRIPTION:The new album by the Albert Castiglia Band\, Wild and Free\, was recorded live at The Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton\, Florida. This in your face live performance captures the energy and guitar mastery that Castiglia shares with his audiences each time he takes the stage.  With special guests Mike Zito\, John Ginty\, and Lewis Stephens this is THE live album Castiglia fans have been waiting for!  Wild and Free has everything blues fans are looking for… great songs …guitar virtuosity… and the raw power and emotion behind Castiglia’s live performances. The Miami-raised musician served an apprenticeship while backing legendary blues musician Junior Wells. He later went on to work with singer Sandra Hall. Never content to allow himself to be confined to any particular category\, he embarked on a solo career that’s yielded nine critically acclaimed albums and consist kudos for his exceptional instrumental prowess\, his searing vocals\, and live performances that have dazzled audiences from coast to coast. It’s little wonder that Miami’s New Times lauded him as South Florida’s “Best Blues Guitarist” or that USA Today was inspired to remark “It’s a revelation to discover the thrilling retro-electric blues from this astonishing young guitarist.” Likewise\, BluesAbout.com called Castiglia “one of those mid-tier artists that is just one album away from breaking big and becoming a household word in the blues world.” Or\, as M Music & Musicians once noted\, “His back-to-basics approach follows in the footsteps of those who fostered the blues in the Mississippi Delta and the smoky late-night haunts of Chicago.” After the highly successful and critically acclaimed release of Masterpiece on Gulf Coast Records\, Castiglia was nominated for two Blues Music Awards in the categories of Blues Rock Album of the Year and Blues Rock Artist.
